Emotional suppression

Suppression difficulties

Are your mind/body telling like it is?

Suppression is usually the cause for difficulty in homeopathic treatment.  You probably are aware that medical interventions suppress your body's natural reactions.  But the phenomenon of suppression is much more broad.

Interestingly, emotional suppression due to, for example, guilt, excitement, grief or pride can be potent suppressors.  From a homeopathic perspective, no emotion is good or bad, but each individual reacts differently and some individuals are more likely to development dis-ease from suppress emotions. This is because suppressed of any natural reaction of the body can be transferred to any part of the body.  We think of this physical expression of stress as "dis-ease."  Of course, not all diseases have emotional causes.  So, suppression is not only medical.

Remedies can relieve this type emotional suppression, but the homeopath must notice the emotional cause for dis-ease and choose the appropriate remedy.  From only one interview, sometimes suppressions are not evident to me, as a homeopath.  In that case, I choose a remedy based on what I was able to understand during that interview.  If my remedy is only close, other reactions will appear and often the suppressed emotion or physical symptom will also become clearer.  In the worst case, the patient will not react to a remedy that does not cover his suppressed emotion or physical symptom and the case will need to be taken in greater depth.
