Details of Remedy Bottle Prep

Liquid?

You can take your remedy as dry pellets when you are in a rush. For example, if a poisonous snake bit you, you should take a dry pill because speed is essential. For the best effect, drink your remedy in water. This is because the pellet immediately transfers the medicinal effect to the water. Also, the tissues of your mouth absorb liquid remedy better than dry pellets. Prepare a dilution bottle as described below for taking a remedy for more than a few days. I use alcohol in my dilution bottles and save them for common emergencies.

Alcohol?

The alcohol is for the preservation of your liquid remedy. (Sugar pellets are food for harmless airborne bacteria. Bacteria growing in your remedy dilution bottle will look unclean even if it is harmless.) If you have strong alcohol such as vodka, brandy, or Japanese shochu, a ratio of 1 part alcohol to 10 parts water should be enough to disinfect the water. If your alcohol is weak, such as sake, use pure alcohol. Don't use wine because it will turn to vinegar.

Bottle?

Any bottle that you can grasp in the palm of your hand is big enough. Reuse old bottles by sterilizing them in boiling water for 30 minutes. Glass is better than plastic.
